Caring for Summer Damage to Prevent It from Carrying into Autumn | Summary of All 6 Episodes

Hello. This is Nonko, the store manager of Mirobina, where I always go without foundation. Now that summer is over and it's getting a little cooler, have you noticed any changes like: "I feel like I've suddenly aged," "My skin is dry," "My complexion looks dull," or "Even my hair looks lifeless"? In fact, many of the skin and hair problems that appear in autumn are related to the damage sustained during the summer. Strong UV rays. Minerals lost with sweat. Thermal shock from repeatedly going between the scorching heat and air conditioning. And continuing with the same skincare routine as in summer. So, in this 6-part series, I've been talking about "Care to prevent summer damage from carrying over into autumn." Not just applying products from the outside, but also from the inside out. Furthermore, it's about not inflicting new damage on skin that has just recovered. I've summarized what I think is important for restoring your skin and hair in autumn. Please feel free to read whichever part interests you.

Episode 1 | Did I suddenly age in the fall?

After summer ends, you might suddenly start noticing dryness, dullness, and roughness in your skin. The cause isn't just UV rays. During the summer, your skin is exposed to harsher conditions than you might realize, such as the "thermal shock" caused by repeatedly moving between the scorching heat of the outdoors and air-conditioned rooms. So why does summer damage show up in the fall? Let's start there. Episode 1 | Did I suddenly age in the fall?

Episode 2 | Are You Getting Enough Minerals?

In the summer, we lose more than just water and salt from sweating profusely. We also lose various minerals such as zinc, magnesium, calcium, and iron. Hair loss, dryness, roughness, and dullness are some of the problems that can occur. When thinking about your skin and hair in the fall, I want you to pay attention not only to external care but also to the minerals inside. I will also introduce the mineral supplements I use, such as nettle, dandelion, and Activa. Episode 2 | Are You Getting Enough Minerals?

Episode 3 | Is that lotion right for your skin right now?

September is still hot, so it's easy to continue using the same skincare routine as in summer. However, your skin is already preparing for autumn. The first thing you should reconsider is the "amount" and "moisturizing power" of your toner. You don't need to buy a new toner; simply adding a little glycerin can adjust the moisturizing power to suit your skin's current state. This article discusses how to use toner in a way that focuses on "your skin today," rather than the season. Episode 3 | Is that lotion right for your skin right now?

Episode 4 | My 10-Minute Sesame Oil Pack That I'm Obsessed With

After the summer, my skin feels rough and somewhat dull. During this time of year, I do a "10-minute oil pack" using beauty sesame oil almost every night. I apply a generous amount of sesame oil, about the size of a 500 yen coin, and leave it on for 10 minutes. I cleanse my makeup and sunscreen while simultaneously doing my skincare. It's very simple, but it suits my skin quite well right now, and my skin has been in great condition lately. Episode 4 | My 10-Minute Sesame Oil Pack That I'm Obsessed With

Episode 5 | Autumn, Sudden Hair Loss?

Autumn is a time when hair problems tend to become more pronounced than skin problems. Hair loss, dryness, lack of shine—after the age of 40, changes in hair significantly impact one's appearance. Therefore, the first thing you should re-evaluate is your daily shampoo and conditioner. We also discuss internal care, such as minerals and sleep, as well as scalp oil massage. If you want to change your hair, start with the basics of your daily routine rather than relying on special treatments. Episode 5 | Autumn, Sudden Hair Loss?

Episode 6 | Don't let your guard down with sunscreen even in autumn!

Even after working so hard to repair the damage caused by summer, it will all be for nothing if you miss one crucial piece. That last piece is sunscreen. Even when the sunlight feels a little weaker in the fall, sun protection is still necessary. And what's important is not just applying it in the morning and being done with it, but "reapplying it." I also talk about what I value most when choosing sunscreen: gentleness and moisturizing properties. Caring for the damage caused by summer, and preventing new damage from forming. When both of these are in place, your fall skincare routine is complete. Episode 6 | Don't let your guard down with sunscreen even in autumn!

Knowledge is indeed a valuable asset.

While writing this sixth episode, I also had to relearn some things. In particular, thermal shock. I learned about thermal shock when I was a beauty consultant, and I thought I knew about it from talking to customers, but when I looked into it again, I realized that it's worse for the skin than I thought. That said, it's difficult to prevent it in the scorching heat of summer... But knowing about it or not knowing about it changes how you deal with it. If you know about it, you can take care of it by carefully using sesame or ginger lily. In summer, it's unavoidable to sweat, but if you know that you tend to become deficient in minerals and that this negatively affects your skin and hair, you can take measures to address that as well. Skin care and body care are all about accumulating these small things. It's because you see the results of these small accumulations that skin care and body care are so enjoyable. Lately, I've started floor ballet because I want to do something about my body shape, which just won't stop changing. I do it in the mornings while watching YouTube. I've been able to continue this because it makes my body feel lighter and more comfortable, but the other day, my chiropractor, who I always go to, told me, "Your waistline has gotten thinner. It's slender," and I was so happy! Thanks to that, I'm motivated to continue. I believe that results are very important. That's why Mirobina also emphasizes results. So, I would like to continue running a store where people can see results and feel happy, so I hope you will continue to support us!
