This is a series of posts I wrote in my email newsletter back in my mid-30s, titled "My Story of Graduating from Being a Cosmetics Gypsy," which I'm now republishing for my official blog.
What were the motivations behind the creation of Mirobina, and why did they end up with skincare products made from natural ingredients?
We will leave behind written materials to convey the background information that cannot be fully expressed on the product page alone.
All 15 episodes are being released sequentially.
I really want to be beautiful
To our regular subscribers,
For first-timers,
Hello.
This is Nonko, the shop manager of Bi-Natural (formerly Aromatic Life Magic Soap) (*This was the original name of this shop) (*^_^*)
Now then!
This is the story of how I came to open my Aromatic Life Magic Soap shop.
As someone who tends to go all-in when I fall in love with something, and who can't stick with things I don't like, I'm a bit of a selfish person, so all the products I choose are ones that I've fallen in love with!
So, all the products are cute, and it makes me a little sad when they get criticized (lol).
The common thread among Aromatic Life Magic Soap products is that they are all made with 100% natural, additive-free plant-derived ingredients. <No chemical ingredients used> This is something I will always uphold, no matter what anyone says! (Some minerals)
So, I've been writing a series of articles in this newsletter recently about the reasons why I became who I am today and the journey leading up to the opening of my shop.
Having been a cosmetics enthusiast since my university days, I finally became a beauty consultant for the French skincare brand I had always admired. My final recommendation was a 50,000 yen "ultimate serum" designed to be used up in seven days.
Seeing customers whose skin doesn't improve, and yet my own skin getting worse despite using our company's products liberally, I'm despairing over my own skin not becoming beautiful.
"...What the heck?!" she exclaimed, and quit her job when she became pregnant.
Touching God's Work
I've always loved plants, and one day I came across a book called "Aromatherapy Lesson" in a bookstore. The more I read, the more I found it fascinating, so I started looking for information about the author and discovered that she runs an aromatherapy school called "Green Flask"!
Before I knew it, I had left my child with my mother, who was a stay-at-home mom, and spent three years attending an aromatherapy school, eventually obtaining my instructor certification.
Wow, these past three years have been an emotional whirlwind! (^o^)
What impressed me the most was realizing that plants in the natural world are beings with incredible wisdom.
A large tree visible from the window.
It has many beautiful leaves that sway gently in the breeze.
The teacher looked at it and said:
"Each of those leaves never completely overlaps."
It's perfectly "designed" so that every single leaf receives sunlight.
This is truly a work of God."
A divine work.
The god residing in that tree that sways gently in the breeze.
Wow, that's amazing...! As someone who loves plants, this was such a wonderful story it almost brought me to tears (T_T)
Killing harmful bacteria doesn't harm beneficial bacteria!?
And then, essential oils.
"All essential oils have antibacterial properties."
Essential oils are substances that plants use to protect themselves and their surrounding plants from fungi and to heal diseases.
Therefore, killing the bad bacteria won't negatively affect the good bacteria.
Oh my, how clever and wonderful! (T_T)
I can't believe something that perfect exists in this world!
It was like that feeling of deep emotion, that warmth that I felt from the bottom of my heart when I saw beautifully blooming flowers as a child, had been revived!
A great deal of trust in plants
Even now, the emotions I felt at that time still serve as my criteria for selecting products in the store. The trust I gained in plants at that time is undoubtedly the foundation of everything I do.
Starting next time, I'll be sharing my experience of how my longing for plants saved me from years of struggling with acne, dullness, itchiness, and bumps—a life of constantly searching for the perfect cosmetic product! (^_-)–☆
