Hello everyone.
No foundation, Milobina, and Manager Nonko are always welcome.
This trip to Australia, and the cherry blossoms after returning home.
This spring, I was deeply moved by the beauty of nature's workings, and I actually discovered a very cute animal in my own garden!
The houttuynia cordata leaves that served as the lizard's home.
After seeing a post from an influencer I've been following since last year, I realized that the idea that "weeds should be pulled" isn't always the right one. This year, too, the houttuynia cordata has grown splendidly around my house and in my flowerbeds.
When I returned from my trip to Australia, I noticed that my flowerbed, which was otherwise filled with beautiful flowers, had been significantly infested with houttuynia cordata. I was wondering, "What should I do about this...?"
Then, a little lizard popped out from behind the houttuynia cordata and quickly hid again.
And it's so cute! It hides only its head under the houttuynia leaves, but its long, beautiful tail is completely exposed (lol).
At this point, I had a hunch.
"Isn't this the lizard's home?"
The next day, and the day after that, every time I passed by, the lizard would hide its head under the houttuynia cordata, with only its tail sticking out, as if it were completely hidden. It was now confirmed that it definitely lived here.
I figured that if I cut or pulled out the houttuynia cordata, I would be taking away the lizard's comfortable home, and I would be sad too. So, I decided to leave it as it is for a while.
(Ultimately, it seems they moved to a place with more lush houttuynia cordata, and I've been seeing them there recently, so I tidied up the original flowerbed!)
Even weeds have a role to play. Learning about ecosystems from your garden.
What I realized this time is that weeds, including Houttuynia cordata, have a role to play, and are, of course, "part of the ecosystem" just like us.
I feel uncomfortable with terms like "pest" and "harmful animal" because they seem like one-sided terms used by humans.
Weeds must play an important role not only for lizards, but also for other insects, animals, and microorganisms.
This spring, I found myself reflecting on the fact that if we don't consider not only our own lives but also the lives of other living beings, we might lose something truly important.
We've kept you waiting all the way from Australia! Luxurious aroma soap
Going back a bit, on this trip to Australia, I visited Mirobina, which is very popular"Luxury Aroma Soap"We have also made sure to stock up on them!
This is a wonderfully soothing, pure, handmade aromatherapy soap that I stumbled upon in Australia. While handmade natural soaps are sold in many places in Australia, this luxurious aromatherapy soap is by far the one that I find most "soothing."
The scent, the texture, the lather—everything about it is truly wonderful. "Products that feel good" possess positive energy.
And strangely enough, the people who make those kinds of products are very likely to be warm and kind people.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the long period of stock shortages, but we have finally managed to get our hands on some!
If you're interested, please give this soap a try; it lets you feel the magnificent nature of Australia and the warmth of its maker.
