4. Skin care products to choose
<Checkpoint>
・Everyday things. Verify whether it is safe to use for a long period of time.
→ Tip: Choose products that are chemical-free and 100% natural.
Convenient chemical ingredients. Sensitive Japanese people won't buy products just because they don't feel good, so we use chemical ingredients that improve the feel of the product, making it easier to use and meeting customer expectations. I think they are using products that have minimal negative effects on the skin, but there is no verification of the effects of using this product over 10, 20, or 50 years, so there is currently no guarantee. . Even so, new ingredients are being created and new products are being introduced every year.
Another concern is that long-term use of ingredients that have never been found in nature may cause allergies.
Many chemical ingredients are used in a single cosmetic product, and I'm worried that many people will be troubled if they develop an allergy because they won't be able to pinpoint which one is causing the allergic reaction.
On the other hand, just because it is a natural ingredient does not mean it is safe.
However, over the long history of humankind, toxic and highly irritating natural ingredients that we use as cosmetic ingredients have been eliminated, and currently there are only a few on the market. Most of the aromas and herbs in our products have little toxicity or irritation, and have been used for a long time, so they are safer to use over the long term than chemical ingredients.
・Did you feel the effect after using it for a month?
→ There are few skin care products in the world that are actually effective. We recommend trying it for total care.
At Milobina, we believe that cosmetics should have tangible effects.
However, there are an overwhelming number of cosmetics in the world that have no effect.
According to the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Act, cosmetics must be ``products with mild efficacy.'' In other words, it must not have the effect of ``removing stains,'' ``reducing sagging skin,'' or ``reducing wrinkles.''
This is to prevent side effects.
Chemical ingredients and drugs have clear and sharp effects, but at the same time they always come with side effects. I believe that the effectiveness of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Act is based on the premise that synthetic ingredients are used in cosmetics.
Therefore, there are currently many cosmetics on the market that are ineffective and have no effect even when used, and even organic skin care products that do not have any effect.
Another thing is that it is extremely difficult to achieve results that will make your skin look better through skin care.
Securing plant raw materials with many beneficial components, the highest quality raw materials (large amounts of components), the carefulness of the manufacturing process (the components do not break down), the balance with cost, and how to refine the raw materials (safety and effectiveness). It must be possible to determine the following:
For mass production, it is impossible to do it carefully by hand, so we rely on machines, but plant materials are delicate, and important ingredients tend to be destroyed when they are made uniformly by machines. is.
Therefore, in order to create the most ideal product and still take advantage of the goodness of the plant, it must be manufactured carefully by human hands and eyes. Or, even if you use a machine, you need a high level of technique that is comparable to manual work.
For example, when it comes to aroma-based products, even if the exact same raw materials are blended in the same ratio, the aroma and texture will change depending on the size of the kiln in which it is manufactured. That's why using plant materials requires knowledge and experience.
The more carefully a product is made, the more labor and labor costs are required, and as a result, the price of the product has to be higher. The reason why natural, handmade products are so expensive is not only because of their effectiveness, but also because of the amount of time and effort that goes into creating them.
Finally, regarding the refining of raw materials, the more concentrated the raw materials are, the more effective they will be, but the more likely they will not be able to withstand delicate skin.
Another issue may be shelf life. For example, when unrefined, like shea butter, it has great effects, but on the other hand, it becomes perishable.
For raw materials that are highly nutritious and easily perishable, we remove some of their nutritional components to make them milder in effect, while adding a process to make them less perishable and safer. Therefore, it is difficult to feel the effects.
Therefore, when using natural raw materials in cosmetics, it is important to consider how much the raw materials should be refined and how to make them less likely to spoil.
Often, some jojoba oil and sesame oil are golden and dark in color, while others are transparent and colorless, but this is due to differences in refining.
Naturally, transparent oils are less effective, while darker oils are more effective.
<Representative chemical components>
There are many types of chemical ingredients, but we have selected the ones you should be especially careful about, so please use them as a reference.
synthetic surfactantIt is used in almost all cosmetics and makeup.
Advantage: Mixes water and oil neatly. It is used in detergents by dissolving dirt in water. cheap
Disadvantage 1: Because it dissolves proteins, the skin's barrier and water retention functions are lost with long-term use.
→Most dry skin is caused by cosmetics containing synthetic surfactants.
Disadvantage 2: Easy to penetrate deep into the body. Because it can hardly be broken down, it accumulates in the skin and body.
Disadvantage 3: Because it does not decompose, it pollutes rivers and oceans and has a negative impact on living organisms.
× Rinseable cleansing, wipe-off type cleansing (using synthetic ingredients)
× Facial cleansing foam, liquid facial cleanser, foam facial cleansing foam, soap facial cleansing foam (using synthetic ingredients)
〇 Bar soap (100% natural)
△ Soap face wash foam (100% natural), powder face wash (100% natural)
△ Soap liquid facial cleanser ((100% natural)
PreservativeIt is used in almost all cosmetics and makeup.
Effect: High bactericidal effect. Parapen is famous because it is said to cause less skin irritation.
Disadvantage 1: There is data that exposure to UV rays can cause stains.
Disadvantage 2: It is difficult to distinguish between resident bacteria (good bacteria) and bad bacteria.
Long-term use can weaken your skin and cause acne and eczema. Dryness and aging occur more easily.
Improved usabilityAdding a little chemical ingredient creates the ideal feel.
Customers are selfish, so new chemical ingredients that have never been experienced before are being developed and used in cosmetics in order to make them more comfortable to use. There is no data on what the future impact will be.
(Political issue) Many toxic ingredients that are prohibited overseas are still used in Japan.
⇒ Too scary to use for a long time. Foundations contain many chemical ingredients.
The same goes for mineral foundation. Living without foundation is ideal
What did you think?
The town seminar was scheduled for 2 hours. After I told you all about this, it took quite a long time!
This was my first time actually getting skin care done. I asked everyone to come without make-up if possible, but everyone came without make-up, even if they were shy, so everything went smoothly.
My impression is that everyone is taking care and making an effort to become beautiful.
Many of those efforts are not good for your skin, so I thought I would like to continue this skin care practice edition.
How to apply lotion, how much to apply, how to spread creams and oils, the temperature of hot water when washing your face, how to touch your skin, etc. These are all small things, but they are things you do every day, and they are important for your skin. The impact on this is not small.
Skin care is a daily effort. I would be happy if you learned the techniques to do only what your skin needs in a way that makes your skin happy.
So, let's meet again at the Kawagoe Town Seminar next summer!
