Hello.
No foundation, Milobina, and Manager Nonko are always welcome.
My childhood friend asked me, "Are you doing cosmetic surgery?"
This is the eighth and final episode of a series in which I share various insights gained from that experience.
This time,
Until now, 100% natural skincare was the best!
No chemicals!
I've been making posts like that, but I want to write about how that way of thinking can actually bring suffering and unhappiness.
So, please enjoy this video until the very end.
A pitfall that every naturalist falls into
I was in my early thirties when it first opened in 2003,
Because I was saved by natural skincare, I'm very particular about it.
Back then, I was really prickly and aloof.
"Chemicals are evil!"
"Absolutely stop!"
I honestly believed that.
However, thinking back, I was also a former beauty consultant,
As a tip for sales talk,
Regarding the products that our customers use,
I was taught not to say anything critical or disparaging.
That's true.
When someone says something like that, it feels like they're making fun of something that's mine.
It's perfectly normal to feel unwell.
Without building trust, customers are less likely to want to buy from that person.
Because of that, even though I thought in my heart that natural was the only option,
In those early days, we tended to communicate things in a somewhat milder way.
But now, even looking at social media, it's incomparable to back then.
Trust in natural products is growing,
When I look at some naturalists,
I sometimes think, "That's just like me back then..."
This might sound arrogant, but
It's not always true that natural products are good and chemical products are bad.
We tend to think in terms of absolute two extremes,
Actually, that's a trap, and if you continue thinking that way,
Ultimately, this could lead to putting pressure on oneself and those around you.
In some cases, this can lead to serious health problems.
The shocking 75% DEET! Australian insect repellent.
This time, an event occurred that clearly confirmed this idea.
All the insect repellents sold at my shop, Mirobina, are 100% natural.
Its selling point is that it's DEET-free.
DEET is used all over the world.
It is a key ingredient in highly effective insect repellents.
In Japan, it's included in most insect repellents sold at drugstores.
However,
Because it is an ingredient that may cause side effects or skin irritation,
Use with caution.
Its use by children is restricted,
It's dangerous if it gets in your eyes, so it can't be used on your face.
There are also some downsides that might be a little frightening.
But, as I mentioned before, its insect-repellent effect is outstanding.
Therefore, at Mirobina, we use aromatherapy scents that insects dislike.
This natural insect repellent, made with plenty of natural ingredients, is incredibly popular!
There seem to be a lot of mosquitoes this year, so they're selling very well.
Going back a bit in time, I went to Australia in March of this year.
When I went to a campsite in the countryside, I was warned to be careful because there was a massive outbreak of mosquitoes carrying a dangerous disease.
The partner heard this.
He seemed to know how dangerous those mosquitoes are, and his face changed color in an instant.
I rushed into the store and bought the following:
It was an insect repellent gel with "75% DEET!" written in huge letters.
For me, who usually only uses natural products,
"75% DEET" is absolutely shocking!!!
I was surprised, thinking, "Something like this exists?!"
Because, the selling point of Mirobina is that it contains 0% DEET,
This product,
Its selling point is "75% DEET"!
He also usually prefers natural products and doesn't use chemical insect repellents.
Then he changed his expression and said, "It contains 75% DEET."
I bought insect repellent without any hesitation whatsoever.
That's right.
When it comes to matters of life and death or serious problems, chemistry is the way to go.
Because chemicals are also a product of human ingenuity.
I usually live a life where I hardly come into contact with any chemicals,
When I saw him with 75% DEET in his possession,
It was refreshing, or rather, shocking.
I was immediately convinced that "that's absolutely necessary,"
I was a little nervous, but I managed to put it on properly.
I wasn't bitten by any mosquitoes.
My skin was fine.
good···
Everything has a yin and a yang, a positive and a negative.
My Australian partner is currently
I'm moving to a rural area called Sakuho Town in Nagano Prefecture.
I'm working very hard.
Especially at this time of year, the landscape is full of green as far as the eye can see.
A cool, pleasant breeze is blowing through, and I'm really appreciating the charm of the countryside.
But Kawagoe is also a great place to live and has its own unique charm.
You can easily get what you need, and the stores have a wide selection of goods.
You don't have to worry about water pipes bursting in the winter.
And in this world, there are both good people and bad people.
However, just because someone is a good person doesn't mean everything about them is positive. On the contrary, the more positive they are, the darker their shadow can become.
For example, someone who suppresses their own selfishness, is considerate of others, and wishes them happiness is a good person, right?
But conversely, you could also say that such people aren't kind to you.
As a result, they tend to attract selfish and overly dependent people. That's the dark side.
What I'm trying to say is that everything has an opposite side.
Choose with love
There are many benefits to sticking to 100% natural ingredients, as well as many positive aspects for the environment and the planet.
That's why, no matter how difficult the situation becomes, I want to keep this shop going and continue to share my message.
But if that's all there is to it, then relationships, including family relationships, can break down.
It can lead to problems such as being unable to maintain one's life or quality of life, and other negative consequences.
I, too, have suffered for many years from nummular eczema, a representative of severe eczema. I tried to manage without relying on medication, but natural care alone was not enough, so I now regularly use the strongest steroid cream on certain areas.
Even if it's not good for my skin or body, I can't maintain my quality of life without using it.
The owner of a natural products shop regularly uses the strongest steroids. It seems contradictory, but perhaps this is a matter of yin and yang.
What's important is a sense of balance. I think it's about having a sense of harmony.
What does that lead to? Self-love and kindness.
The feeling of cherishing oneself, asking oneself, "How can I make myself happy?"
For 23 years, I have explored and engaged with natural products and lifestyles.
What's important is not to restrict yourself and be too hard on yourself,
I think it's about taking care of them gently and with love.
Is that natural care something that makes you happy, or would it be easier to rely on chemicals?
These days, I think it's okay to use those criteria to make a decision when you're unsure.
What decision do you think would be best?
