What is it that you can immerse yourself in?

Hello. This is Aki from Milobina staff.

What do you like doing in your time?
Is there ever a time to relax, a time to calm down, a time to become nothing?

I like reading books.
Since I was little, I used to buy a lot of books at bookstores and used bookstores.

When I was a student, I had a friend who loved books, so I often lent them to him.
There was a time when I got into mystery novels because I borrowed them from a friend who said they were interesting.

I'm an adult, but I also love picture books (lol)
Picture books don't have much text, but I like how the pictures can help you imagine the world of the picture book even further.

I also read manga.

I love this book, but I don't always read it all the time.
Between work, housework, and childcare, I don't think I've had the time to read a book for a while.

Don't you have time to read a book for 30 minutes...an hour a day? is what I think?

That's right! I have enough time for that (lol)

Then why don't you read it...

That's because once you start reading it, you can't stop.

That's all for today. Even if I decide to do so, I open it again and read it.
Even when the children talk to her, she becomes distracted, and she neglects housework.

When I start reading a book, I end up having to read it all the way to the end (lol)
When I buy a book and read it, I usually finish it within the same day.

So I don't read many books. Or rather, I feel like I'm trying not to read it now.

But I really want to read books! ! ! There are times when I think.
When I go to a bookstore and think, ``Oh, I want to read this book,'' I am conflicted about whether to buy it or not.

However, I also like wandering around bookstores. The library is also somewhat calming.
I think I would have liked to have worked at a bookstore or a library.

I would be happy if I could stay in that quiet space, surrounded by lots of books.

As someone who loves books, there is one place that I am most interested in right now.
A hotel called ``BOOK and BED'' opened in Tokyo a few years ago with the concept of a bookstore where you can stay overnight.
Do you all know?

There is a bed space behind the bookshelf, and it is also a place where you can fall asleep while reading a book.
A place where you can read your favorite book for as long as you like while drinking tea and lying down.

It's a great place for people who love books!
When I saw the news that this hotel was opened, I knew I wanted to go there right away.

Recently, more and more bookstores and cafes are being combined.

I would like to relax and read a book while drinking tea in such a space.

Let me tell you a little more about what I like.
I like movies. To be honest, I like movie theaters.

I like making sweets.

Books, movies, baking...why do I like it?
Why do I feel refreshed after reading a book, watching a movie, or making sweets?

When you read a book, you enter the world of books. So are movies...
When I make sweets, I concentrate on making the sweets and don't think about anything else.

After I finish reading a book, watching a movie, or making sweets, I feel refreshed.
I think it's because I'm so focused and immersed in that thing that I don't think about anything else.

Especially when making sweets, I measure out the ingredients, mix them, and knead them.
Like with cooking, you can't decide if this amount is enough.
If you don't measure carefully, you'll end up making a mistake, so really concentrate on making the sweets.

While it's baking in the oven, it's fun to watch it bake through the window.
I'm happy when it smells good.
The exhilarating feeling you get when you successfully complete something is irresistible.

One day, I thought... why does making sweets make me feel so refreshed?

Concentrate and immerse yourself in that thing. A time when all I could think about was that.
That's what I thought.

It's hard not to think about anything even when you don't want to think about anything.
Even when I'm absent-minded, I end up thinking about unnecessary things. Even when I think about going to bed, I keep thinking about it again and can't sleep.

At times like that, try focusing on something you like and immerse yourself in it.
I'm sure everyone has something they can immerse themselves in.

There are so many things I have to do every day, but sometimes I just put them aside.
It might be a good idea to immerse yourself in something you like.

Cleaning, laundry, meal preparation... Sometimes it's good to cut corners.
Even if you don't clean it for a day, it won't get very dirty!
You can eat supermarket side dishes or convenience store lunches for a day or so.

Use today for yourself! !
Even mothers need days like that.

Mothers are always working hard for their families and tend to put themselves on the back burner.

I think some mothers feel guilty if they cut corners a little.
I want my mother to value her time as well.

Don't try too hard on your own; be kind to your family and ask for their cooperation.
That's very important, isn't it?

Sometimes I don't do anything today! ! I think I'll try to make time to read a book every day.

Reset your mind by immersing yourself in what you like!
And again, I want to enjoy every day and do my best♪
