Hello, this is Naoko Miyazaki from Milobina.
“CBD JAPAN EXPO 2021 Autumn” was a business event related to CBD products held in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo on November 5th (Friday) and 6th (Saturday). The event was held with the aim of spreading correct knowledge about CBD products and fostering a healthy and active market.
Nonko Milobina, the store manager who sells CBD products, also visited the exhibition and got a feel for the current state of the CBD market. In this blog, we will report on the “CBD JAPAN EXPO 2021 Autumn”.
Japanese market attracts attention from foreign visitors
At the venue, which was located a little back from the main street, booths were lined up over two floors, the first and second floors. Although CBD is not yet very well known in Japan, there were exhibitors from all over the country, and the enthusiasm was palpable.
There were also many foreigners in attendance, who seemed to have a strong interest in the Japanese CBD market.
Currently, Milobina only sells ``CBD Drops,'' which are generally called tinctures, which are made by dissolving CBD in oil. There were products lined up.
Food-based CBD products were the most commonly exhibited products. First, there was honey near the entrance. There were also chocolates, gummies, and candies.
I sampled some of the gummies, and I could feel a slight CBD flavor in the aftertaste, but if you didn't know that and ate them, you might not realize that they contain CBD.
“SOUNDSBETTER” was the place where I felt the fusion of CBD and Japanese.
We have CBD-infused ginger syrup developed with a long-established store that preserves Kyoto's traditional Kyoto candy, and CBD-infused roasted tea made with tea leaves selected by the owner of Kyoto's popular tea stand YUGEN, which are unique to Japan. I have a feeling that CBD products will become more popular in the future.
CBD products are expanding from shampoos to conditioners to pillow cases.
The next most popular item was cosmetics. Because CBD can also be absorbed through the skin, it is also incorporated into hair care products and basic cosmetics.
Manager Nonko was particularly interested in non-silicone shampoos and treatments containing CBD. They were eager to ask questions to the staff.
“TOUR” CBD products. Shampoos, treatments, body soaps, bath bombs, etc.
There were also face masks and pen-type nail oil.
In an unusual place, SOFIC Co., Ltd. was exhibiting Japan's first "wearable CBD". He introduced us to pillow cases, eye mask neck warmers, etc. that contain CBD oil trapped in microcapsules and applied to fibers.
At Spelux, an exhibitor from Sapporo, we sampled corn soup, onion soup, and cherry tomatoes with MCT oil-based CBD tinctures. The soup had a more mellow taste and was delicious.
And these cherry tomatoes are Hokkaido's specialty from "J Farm" in Tomakomai, which can usually be enjoyed at restaurants!
They wanted people to taste that taste, so they had them specially prepared for this exhibition.
``We hope people will be able to enjoy it with salads, just like flaxseed oil, which is good for health,'' said representative director Tokairin enthusiastically.
Tomatoes and soup were a feast at ``spelux.''
Nonko, the store manager, talked to us about various things at all the booths on display, and happily said, ``I learned a lot.'' Even though we arrived in the daylight, it was already night by the time we left. I left the venue feeling inspired.
This exhibition was open to not only industry professionals but also the general public (and free of charge). All the exhibitors are friendly and have accurate and extensive knowledge about CBD, so if you're interested in CBD, it might be a good idea to stop by.
